a start to an era

I began this post by repeating a phrase my friend paakow essandoh kept saying all throughout my move ‪—‬ “the end of an era”. but somehow halfway through thinking about what I wanted to include in this post, I decided that I didn’t want it to signify and end to anything but rather a start to the next stage of my life.

there’s no doubt that dallas shaped by creativity in more ways than one. I made friends and I made family. I shot work I was comfortable with, I shot work I wasn’t entirely comfortable with. Frankly there’s so much I can say about my former home but the more I think about it, the sadder I get. So let’s do this: allow me to show my gratitudes to all my friends and family in dallas. my time in dallas means nothing without you all and I appreciate y’all pouring so much into me even when I wasn’t necessarily in a position to pour back into y’all.

cincinnati is definitely an acquired taste, and frankly I haven’t been here long enough to even understand if it’s a taste I’m willing to indulge. but so far so good. I’m excited for 4 reasons:

1) vote in a swing state

2) remove my front license plate

3) cincy is a city with the most destinations within a 24 hour drive. apparently. so ROADTRIP!!

4) fall fashion

last but not least, shout outs to the homies chris x paakow, I don’t know what I would have done without y’all. also, thank you esi t, for sending me $$ for food and gas  👅👅

I’m sure there’s more to come, and I’m really excited to tap into the creative scene in cincy but until then, it’s taking photos of my plants and watching some tv on my rug. I got an email from poly & bark‪—‬my couch has shipped ;)
